About
Mt Shasta Community Fireworks is a 501c4 non-profit corporation whose purpose is to ensure fireworks in Mt. Shasta on the 4th of July. For over 4 decades, the fireworks have been launched on the North Shore of the Lake Siskiyou Meadow area. Over the last 20 years plus, we developed the area, now known as Spini Point, into a premier launch site and fantastic beach that has gained local attraction. This annual event is the biggest draw that our community sees from locals and visitors alike.
Our corporation was formed in 2013 and consists of 5 Board Directors and over 20 committee volunteers. Previously, Mt. Shasta Community Fireworks was a sub-committee to the Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce. At their request, we formed our organization to better facilitate the event that draws from all over in Siskiyou County, Southern Oregon, Redding and even the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition, we are actively involved in the planning of Mt. Shasta’s 4th of July downtown celebration which draws in over 12,000 people on a normal year. The run/walk event on the morning of the 4th of July will be as big as ever, with the downtown street fair and parade will make the weekend complete. Mount Shasta puts on one of the best small-town celebration of our nation’s independence.
Each year, our committee sets out to raise the necessary funds (currently $30,000) to put on this important tradition. We use a variety of fundraising campaigns consisting of soliciting direct donations, email and social media campaigns, drawings and round up’s at Ramshaw’s Ace Hardware and Solano’s Do It Best.
The Board of Directors is actively looking to recruit volunteers to help on the day of the show with everything from crowd control and information to set up and clean up. We will need about 10 people to help out.
